The Cave Creek Owls go retro with 90s inspired jerseys.

We designed this custom jersey for the Cave Creek Owls with a clear direction in mind, bring back the bold, expressive style of 1990s hockey.

The design draws inspiration from that era’s unmistakable approach to uniforms, where color, pattern, and personality all played a central role. From the start, the goal was to create something that felt nostalgic while still holding up as a modern, wearable piece.

The desert landscape became the foundation of the concept. The lower half of the jersey features a stylized cactus pattern set against a southwestern palette, tying directly into the Cave Creek identity. Up top, the deep green base provides contrast and balance, allowing the primary owl crest to remain strong and readable on the ice.

Details throughout the jersey were designed to support that retro influence: bold shapes, layered color blocking, and a willingness to let the design have some personality. At the same time, everything was refined to ensure it translates cleanly in production and performs at a high level during play.

From concept through manufacturing, this project was about capturing a specific feeling and executing it in a way that works today. The result is a jersey that stands out, tells a story, and brings a classic era of hockey design back to life in a new setting.
